Raytheon, a division of RTX Corporation, is actively advancing hypersonic technologies in Texas through strategic partnerships and state-of-the-art testing facilities. Collaborating with Texas A&M University’s George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC), Raytheon utilizes the Ballistic, Aero-Optics, and Materials (BAM) range— the nation’s largest enclosed hypersonic testing tunnel—to conduct high-speed flight experiments and validate materials and sensor systems under extreme conditions. In addition to testing, Raytheon is developing advanced radar systems like the upgraded AN/TPY-2, equipped with Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology and CX6 computing software, to enhance detection and tracking of hypersonic threats.
