Innovation for Impact: A National Security Technology Transfer Forum
Dec. 1 – 3, 2026 | National Conference Center, Leesburg, Va.
Innovation for Impact (I4I) is a new forum dedicated to advancing technology transfer, transition, and commercialization of national security technologies. Innovation for Impact brings together the federal technology transfer community to build the practices and partnerships that keep American innovation at the forefront.
Presented by the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC), the forum brings together researchers, technology transfer professionals, ORTA staff, legal experts, acquisition professionals, innovation program managers, and mission partners to explore practical strategies, exchange best practices, and strengthen collaboration across the federal technology transfer community.
Educational sessions on Dec. 1–2 are designed for federal employees and contractors and focus on education and peer-to-peer collaboration. On the evening of Dec. 2, industry partners join the forum for a networking reception that kicks off the industry portion of I4I. Those connections continue on Dec. 3 during Industry Engagement Day, bringing federal laboratories and the Defense Industrial Base together around technologies, research capabilities, and partnership opportunities.
