First-Look and Open House of the new BEACONS Battery Prototype Facility

The facility opening will feature remarks, networking opportunities, and a tour of the new BEACONS prototyping facility. The BEACONS Battery Prototype Facility is a key national marker to fast-track energy storage innovation and close key supply chain gaps for national security and defense applications. The facility is open to all U.S.-based companies to advance next-generation battery technologies and onshore manufacturing. Funded by the Department of Defense’s Office of Industrial Base Policy via the Manufacturing Capability Expansion and Investment Prioritization (MCEIP) office, BEACONS and the prototype facility play a key role in the Pathfinder program, accelerating the adoption of new battery technologies, scaling U.S. manufacturing capabilities, and strengthening the skilled workforce needed to enhance U.S. energy leadership.
